“Our school includes 'cooking' as one of the subjects in the labor education curriculum. In class, we teach students about Chinese culinary culture, the eight major regional cuisines, historical anecdotes, and the nutritional value of various ingredients. We also organize visits to the kitchens of restaurants, where students can observe how the head chefs prepare and cook dishes. During holidays, cooking is assigned as a labor assignment to promote the comprehensive development of students,” said Zhang Jing, Vice Principal of Dezhou No. 5 Middle School. In the future, the school will continue to promote the concept of healthy eating, allowing students to exercise and enhance their understanding of labor, quality of life, and good habits, among other essential qualities.
