Archaeologists dig out Priest of Pacopampa after 3,000 years


(MENAFN) A catacomb which had lounged uninterrupted for 3,000 years has been exhumed throughout diggings in northern Peru, establishments state.

The inhabitant of the tomb was called the Priest of Pacopampa by archaeologists after the upland zone where it was detected.

Investigators excavated through half a dozen coats of ash blended with black earth to get to his remains, which was together with two closures as well as other holy aids. They defined the discovery as significant.

The closures specified the existence of antique ceremonial body dye utilized for people of select position, Peru's culture ministry stated in a declaration.

Project head Yuji Seki informed the news agency that the big size of the grave, almost 2M (2.2 yards) in diameter as well as 1M in depth, was "very peculiar," as was the location of the body placed face down along with one half of his body protracted as feet are crossed.
