Iran ships 4.000 tons of trout to foreign countries

(MENAFN) Since the start of the ongoing Iranian calendar year (March 21), approximately 4,000 tons of trout have been shipped to foreign countries, according to Arash Nabizadeh, managing director of Iran's Coldwater Fish Farmers Association.

The nation now produces up to 115,000 tons of trout in cold water farms, but the true capability of trout farming in the nation is 196,000–200,000 tons annually, according to Nabizadeh, who informed IRNA.

“Currently, the provinces of Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari, Lorestan, Kohgiluyeh-Boyer Ahmad, and Zanjan account for the largest volume of trout production in the country,” he stated.

The majority of the nation's trout production, in accordance with the representative, is shipped to nearby nations like Russia and Arab states in the Persian Gulf.

Iran's fisheries products enjoyed great quality and were readily accepted by certain new export destinations. In recent years, new markets for Iranian fishery outputs opened up, which includes China, South Korea, as well as the countries of the Eurasian Union.
