Kuwaiti Official Delivers Message From FM To Japanese Counterpart

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TOKYO, May 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Ambassador Samih Hayat delivered on Friday a written message from the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister sheikh Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to his Japanese counterpart Yoshimasa Hayashi.
The letter handover took place during a meeting between Ambassador Hayat and the Japanese Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Kenji Yamada at the Japanese Foreign Ministry's headquarters in Tokyo.
Ambassador Hayat, currently on an official visit to Japan, discussed with his Japanese host means of boosting the bilateral relations, regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The Japanese side expressed aspiration to broaden the cooperation and promote the economic ties between the two countries.
In phone remarks to KUNA, Ambassador Hayat affirmed the State of Kuwait's keenness on strengthening the friendly and cooperation relations as well as the strategic partnership with Japan.
The Japanese minister of state said that the two countries, since establishing diplomatic relations in 1961, have boosted their friendship and established partnerships. He also expressed satisfaction for expanding the scope of cooperation between the two countries not only in the energy sector but also in various other fields.
He recalled that Kuwait and Japan had stood on each other's sides during hard times, namely the 1991 liberation of Kuwait and 2021 quake that jolted Japan.
Furthermore, he noted that His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, last December, held a phone conversation with the Japanese Prime Minister, during the two sides affirmed keenness on elevating the level of the bilateral relations.
Ambassador Hayat arrived in Tokyo on Thursday on an official visit during which he would head the Kuwaiti delegation at the third session of political consultations between the Japanese and Kuwaiti foreign ministries. (end)
