On Saturday, January 14, the city of Las Tablas will be the stage for the return of Las Mil Polleras ('Thousand Skirts Parade'), which, after two years of suspension, becomes the first massive activity, so the recommendation is to maintain biosecurity measures.

The regional director of the Ministry of health (Minsa) Ayvar Hernández, indicated that the population has continued to be taught the measures that must be followed, and although the face mask is no longer mandatory, its use is advised, in addition to frequent hand washing, especially for the most vulnerable.

In the province of Los Santos, there are currently 47 active covid-19 cases, of which only one patient is hospitalized, hospitals have adequate installed capacity, and intensive care rooms are empty.

In addition, it coordinated with the health authorities of the province of Herrera to have greater capacity in the intensive care room at the Nelson Collado Hospital.

Hernández assured that, from this Friday, the sanitary operations will begin in the food outlets, both in Las Tablas and in surrounding areas, to verify the good disposition of the food and that vendors have the proper health cards.

24 ambulances have been set up throughout the parade circuit to deal with any situation that arises with visitors.
