Doha: Watch the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup matches and cheer alongside the rest of the football fans as Msheireb Properties announced that they are offering live screening of the biennial football competition at Barahat Msheireb.
Mandarin Oriental, Doha hotel alongside cafes and restaurants in the said area are screening the matches. Among them are Fiko Doha – Turkish Cuisine, Saasna – Qatari Cusine, Hoppers – Sri Lankan Cuisine, and Sumosan – Contemporary Japanese Cuisine. Reservations are needed to able to watch the live matches.
It can be recalled that Msheireb has offered live screening of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches wherein at Barahat Zone, live viewing on giant screen or in special pods were arranged for the public. Aside from this area, hotels also offered this kind of service.
Prior to the ongoing live screening matches at Barahat Msheireb, from December 23, 2022 to January 3, it conducted free family outdoor movie screenings, which were widely welcomed by the public. It featured movies like Paddington 1 and 2, Home Alone, Snow White, Pinocchio, Lion King, Mulan, and Toy Story 1 and 2.
The Arabian Gulf Cup opening was held on January 6 in Iraq's city of Basra, and will run until January 19.
There are two venues where the matches are being played - over 65,000-capacity Basra International Stadium and the 30,000-capacity Al Minaa Olympic Stadium.
There are eight teams competing for this year's edition including Qatar, defending champions Bahrain, host country Iraq, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait and Yemen.
Qatar has won the tournament three times, in 1992, 2004, and 2014. On Saturday, it defeated Kuwait 2-0. The competition will resume today where Saudi Arabia will play against hosts Iraq under Group A, while Oman meet Yemen.
Meanwhile, tomorrow, United Arab Emirates will play against Kuwait, and Qatar will take on Bahrain at 4.15pm and 7.15pm respectively.
The next match that Qatar will play is on January 13 against United Arab Emirates.
