(MENAFN- UkrinForm) On the night of December 17, 2022, explosions occurred not only in the temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine but also some Russian territories. The first reports appeared right after midnight, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to channel 24 .
Early on December 17, 2022, blasts were heard in Russia's Belgorod region. Local public pages are sharing a video with blast sounds. However, no one is mentioning traditional versions, such as 'air defense systems in action'. It is worth noting that explosions took place, when air raid sirens rang out in eastern and southern Ukraine.
According to local residents, a projectile fragment hit somebody's vehicle. Around 01:50 a.m., it was again 'loud' in the Belgorod region.
In a few minutes following the first explosions in Russia's Belgorod, blasts rocked the Ukrainian territory in the temporarily occupied city of Simferopol. Propagandist channels are reporting on 'sabotage', which could have resulted in the damage caused to gasoline trucks and Russian military equipment. However, this information is yet to be verified.
Then, Telegram channels began to spread information about explosions in Crimea's Bakhchysarai. There was no other information but the fact itself as of 02:30 a.m.
Around 01:20 a.m. and 02:00 a.m., explosions occurred in Russia's Kursk. It is unknown what has happened in the city, but local residents heard blasts in some areas of the city. Local authorities have not commented on the incident yet.
A reminder that, on December 16, 2022, Russia launched another massive missile attack on the territory of Ukraine, having fired 76 missiles at critical infrastructure objects. The Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense units shot down 60 enemy missiles. Emergency blackouts were introduced all over the country.
