Algeria, Turkey hold meeting to discuss growing ties in several sectors

(MENAFN) Turkey on Saturday promised to additionally grow its multi-faceted ties with Algeria.

Hosting a mutual press meeting in cooperation with his Algerian fellow Ramtane Lamamra in Algiers, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu commented that several problems and opportunities of collaboration in several sectors involving defense, maritime, fishery, commerce, agriculture, energy, culture as well as education were talked about throughout the conference of Turkish-Algerian Joint Planning Group hosted in the Algierian capital.

Attracting attention to surging Turkish funding in Algeria, Cavusoglu stated that more than 1,400 Turkish firms funded over USD5 billion in the North African nation.

He underlined that Turkish-Algeria collaboration in the sectors of energy and agriculture would be helpful not just for the two nations, but as well for the expanded area and across the world.

Arrival of Türkiye's Ziraat Bank and the prearranged surge of flight frequency of Turkish Airlines to/from Algeria is going to also contribute to additional developments of two-sided ties, as stated by Cavusoglu.
