QIB Sponsors Quran Recitation Contest For Third Consecutive Year

Doha: For the third consecutive year, Qatar Islamic bank (QIB) has sponsored the Quran recitation contest, which was organised by Ahmed Bin Mohamed Secondary School for Boys. 

The Contest was under the supervision of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in partnership with the Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs. In this year's edition, 471 students participated from 191 schools, both male and female and from various age groups. 

The winners were honoured at a ceremony held recently at the Ministry by Maha Al Rowaili, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education During his speech, Hassan Al Baker, Ahmed Bin Mohamed Secondary School's Headmaster, expressed the pride his school holds for organising the contest for the third consecutive year, in cooperation with Al Falah Primary School for Girls. 

He stated that the purpose of the contest is to encourage students to learn the correct recitation of the Quran, as well as develop students' skills in vocal performance. Al Baker also praised QIB's sponsorship of the contest as well as the Bank's important role in promoting such valuable initiatives that empower students and develop skills that will be useful to them throughout their life.

Commenting on the sponsorship of the event, Mashaal Abdulaziz Al Derham, Assistant General Manager, Head of Corporate Communications & Quality Assurance at QIB said:“QIB is committed to supporting educational programs as part of our corporate social responsibility program which is aligned with the social objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030. This sponsorship contributes to building a gifted generation which is faithful to its religion and proud of its Islamic values”.

She added:“We are pleased with the great turnout from students for this contest and QIB is committed to continuing to strengthen its cooperation with the Ministry of Education with similar programs”.
