Fort Magistrate's Court Issues Order Against Mainagogama Protest

The Fort Magistrate's Court has issued a court order against the MainaGoGama protest.

The court ordered that all structures, vehicle and other belongings of the protesters placed near Temple Trees in Colombo which are causing an obstruction to pedestrians be removed.

The court, however, further ordered that a peaceful protest can continue.

The protesters at“MainaGoGama” had placed tents and other objects on the pavement near Temple Trees.

The Police had, meanwhile, placed buses and Police vehicles along the pavement to prevent more protesters from gathering in the area.

The Police vehicles were removed today as a result of the court order while the tents were all shifted to one side of the road. (Colombo Gazette)
