Art lovers and investors will have the opportunity to view and purchase the artist's bespoke pieces from his first solo exhibition 'Broken Mosaic' from the 11th May – 5th July at Foundry by EMAAR
Dubai, UAE: In collaboration with ArtTime (the gallery who previously brought the work of renowned expressionist and street artist JonOne and contemporary art star Babolex to the region), BARNABE's 'Broken Mosaic' exhibition will debut at Foundry in Downtown Dubai on Boulevard Crescent, on the 11th May and will run until July 5th.
Already renowned as something of a phenomenon in the urban pop art world, the visual artist known professionally as BARNABE is well on his way to achieving cult-like levels of adoration amongst art lovers, exhibition curators and both amateur and professional collectors.
Having exhibited his critically acclaimed work all over the world – from Paris, Nice and St Tropez to Los Angeles, Singapore and West Africa – the rising star of the vibrant urban pop art movement will debut his much-coveted pieces at Foundry by EMAAR in a solo exhibition hosted by ArtTime next month.
Born in Nice in 1994, it was clear from an early age that Pierre-Emmanuel Rome (as he was then known), was a natural creative. It was while studying for his Bachelor's degree that his passion for contemporary graphic art really began to develop though, as did a fascination with exploring the way in which art can challenge and subvert society while simultaneously enriching it.
In 2013 the creation of the symbolic character of BARNABE, whose yellow circular form functions as the visual embodiment of the artists own energy, spontaneity and belief in the joy that can be found in the everyday, proved a pivotal point in his career. Today BARNABE fuses elements of his street-style background with a more traditional means of execution; while he works primarily on canvas, he uses aerosol sprays, acrylic paints and deep black acrylic ink (tools typically associated with graffiti and street art) to do so.
Featuring paintings created specifically for the show as well as a selection of original sculptures and collection of small canvases, his solo exhibition 'Broken Mosaic' sets out to explore the colour palette of the night and its mystical, hidden qualities, while at the same time calling into question our perception of night as a time devoid of colour and activity.
Not only will the exhibition give existing fans the chance to experience BARNABE's work first hand, 'Broken Mosaic' offers a fantastic opportunity for collectors – both new and well established – to purchase pieces of art that are destined to come to financial fruition in the years that follow.
BARNABE's 'Broken Mosaic' will launch on May 11th from 6:30pm – 9:30pm at Shop3, Foundry by EMAAR, Boulevard Crescent and will run until July 5th.
