The Police today failed to secure a court order against protests being staged near Temple Trees.
The Police had requested court for an order against demonstrations being staged opposite Temple Trees.
However, the Colombo Magistrate's Court rejected the request made by the Police.
The court has said the Police have the powers to take action against any protester who acts in a manner that causes a hindrance to the public.
The court, however, refused to issue a court order against protesters gathering near Temple Trees. (Colombo Gazette)
