Turkey’s resort city of Antalya accommodates over 9M overseas tourists in 2021


(MENAFN) Based on figures from the domestic Turkish governorship published on Saturday, the most popular Turkish resort city of Antalya accommodated over 9 million overseas tourists the previous year.

Based on the figures, the metropolis was visited by 9.09 million visitors during this year, jumping by 164 percent in comparison to last year. During last year, the city welcomed only 3.4 million overseas tourists because of coronavirus pandemic regulations.

Amongst external tourists to the Turkish Riviera resort, Russia occupied the largest portion with 3.58 million, then Ukraine and Germany, both with 1.27 million.

In only December, 61,848 overseas tourists visited the city, climbing 213 percent on a yearly basis.
