Turkey: Total of foreign arrivals rise 27.07 percent in 1st H


(MENAFN)According to Turkey’s Culture and Tourism Ministry, the total of foreign arrivals in the country rose 27.07 percent yearly in the first half of the year.

During the first six months of the year, approximately 5.8 million foreign nationals arrived in Turkey, which is a rise from 4.5 million in the first half of 2020.

Turkey’s largest city by inhabitants and its top tourist draw, Istanbul, greeted 2.8 million visitors in the first half of the year, giving it a stock of 47.49 percent in the total number.

On the next place, Mediterranean resort city of Antalya came with 1.5 million visitors followed by Edirne in northwestern Turkey with 611,306 foreigners.

Also, Ukrainians came with 13.9 percent, 772,437 of all foreign visitors, then Russians at 13.04 percent (746,724) and Germans at 9.02 percent (over 510,000).
