Bank of China sees increase in income, plunge in profit


(MENAFN) The Bank of China (BOC), one of the country's four big state-possessed lenders, witnessed its income enlarge vaguely in the first three quarters of 2020, while its net profit dropped.

The bank's income increased 3.23 percent year on year to 430.302 billion yuan (about USD64.9 billion) in the first nine months, the bank stated in a report filed with the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited.

Reported post-tax income for the January-September period came in at 155.986 billion yuan, dropped 8.91 percent year on year.

By the end of September, the outstanding credits for poverty lessening had surged to 142.017 billion yuan, increased 21.09 percent compared with the start of 2020 statistics from the bank's official website revealed.
