Turkey's hazelnut exports drop

(MENAFN) A regional trade union released on Monday, November 2nd, that Turkey's hazelnut exports got to 58,622 tons in the first two months of the export season, which is a decrease from 99,460 tons when compared to the same time frame of the previous year.
The Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Union announced that the country had obtained USD402.19 million from exporting hazelnuts within the first two months of the export season, which is from September to August.
However, during the same time from the previous season, proceeds from hazelnuts reached USD639.4 million.
Turkey happens to be the world's biggest hazelnut exporter, in fact during the previous season, a history record was made in hazelnut exports where 343,000 tons were sold amounting to USD2.3 billion.
