Tunisia declares extension of quarantine amid rapid rising of COVID-19 cases


(MENAFN) Since the COVID-19 is mercilessly claiming more live and spreading to more people in Tunisia, the local authorities announced an expansion of the already imposed lockdown to an extra 14 days in order to control the pandemic.

Based on a statement issued by the presidential office, The National Security Council, which was convened under the leadership of President Kais Saied, decided to extend the nationwide quarantine from April 4 to April 19.

The source referred to the traders who monopoly the food supply amid such harsh circumstances as "war criminals", after reviewing the criminal code.

China, the first nation that was brutally struck by the virus, has declared its readiness to help Tunisia in its battle against the pandemic.
