Moroccan King orders military to join battle against coronavirus

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RABAT, March 23 (KUNA) -- King Mohammad VI, of Morocco, ordered mobilization of the medical resources of the Royal Armed Forces for the combat against the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
Under the royal order, the military medicine will join forces with the civilian one to share facilities in "this critical mission," according to a Royal Court statement carried by the Moroccan News Agency (MAP) late Sunday.
Military medics and paramedics will start backing the healthcare system and strengthening the preventive measures countrywide as of Monday.
The move follows recent detection of shortfall in some medical specializations spearheading the combat against the pandemic, the statement said, urging staffers in both military and civilian medicine to work as one.
Earlier Sunday, the Moroccan Ministry of Health said the Covid-19 infections went up by seven to 115. Three patients recovered and four others died of the disease. (end)
