8 IS terrorists killed in Iraq

The Iraqi military said that 8 IS terrorists were killed on Saturday in airstrikes carried out by the U.S. coalition aircraft in Salahudin province in central Iraq.

A statement released by the media office of the Joint Operations Command (JOC) said that the mission acted on an information tip off, ajoint force from Salahudin's Operations Command, backed by Iraqi and U.S.-led coalition aircraft, carried out an operation to hunt down IS terrorists in a desert area in west of the provincial capital Tikrit.

In the operation, the aircraft blew up IS positions and left 8 of them dead, the troops destroyed 4 hideouts belonging to the terrorists, the statement said.

The operation also destroyed an IS shelter, 3 pickup vehicles and a truck.
