Uzbekistan to host International Championship on Robotics

On October 27-31, International Robotics Championship will be held for the first time in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent,Trendreports citing the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan.

The event is planned as part of the 'Innoweek' Innovation Week.

Both children and young people will take part in the championship. Teams are divided into two age categories: 'Juniors' are from 9 to 16 years old and 'Seniors' - from 17 to 23 years old.

The Junior category competition is divided into two stages: Kegelring and Waste sort out. To take part in the first stage, the participants need to have self-governing robots, and for the second stage they have to be able to control them remotely.

The senior participants will also compete in two categories: 'Robo-Sumo' and 'Robo-football'. The conditions of the competitions are the same as for the other age category.

Boys and girls from the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) can take part in championship.

Any person who is eligible for the declared age range can participate in the competition. A team cannot consist of more than three members. Registration for tournaments takes place online. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has promised to provide assistance to foreigners with obtaining a visa.

Organization of Islamic Cooperation is an international organization of Islamic countries headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It was established on September 25, 1969.

OIC includes 57 countries such as Azerbaijan, Albania, Algeria, Afghanistan, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Iran, Yemen, Kazakhstan, Cameroon, Qatar and others.
