Sri Lanka- Ravi.K ordered to appear before CID for lying


(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) Power and Energy Minister Ravi Karunanayake has been ordered to appear before the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for giving false evidence to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to investigate the Central Bank treasury bond scam.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate ordered Karunanayake to appear before the CID within two weeks.

In May the Attorney General's Department had informed the Colombo Magistrate's Court that charges will be filed against Karunanayake for providing false evidence to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to investigate the Central Bank treasury bond scam.

The CID had filed a case with the Colombo Magistrate's Court against Minister Karunanayake for allegedly providing false evidence before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to investigate the Issuance of Treasury Bonds.
