Thai tycoon sentenced to jail for illegal weapons

Premchai Karnasuta, Thai construction tycoon, was scentenced to six months in prison on Tuesday for illegally keeping rifles, he was however released on bail.

The Criminal Court found the chairman of Italian Thai Development Co., guilty of illegally having three rifles, including one which was used in illegal hunting in February last year.

The court as well found him guilty of having a cap gun and ammunition for the rifles; however, given the defendant confection, his jail time has been reduced from 1 year to six months.
