Turkish forces detain 13 over suspected connections with FETO


(MENAFN) On Thursday, as many as 13 people were detain for their relations with Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), the group behind the 2016 defeated coup in Turkey, according to a security source.

The suspects were arrested within the scope of concurrent anti-terror raids in 17 provinces across Turkey.

Earlier, the prosecutor's office in capital Ankara had released detention warrants for 29 suspects as part of a probe into irregularities in staff recruitment exams, affirmed the source, who spoke in condition of secrecy.

The suspects, who included "covert imams" - senior FETO members - civil and military judge candidates, barred officers and on-duty lawyers, are defendant of staying in FETO/PDY (Parallel State Structure) houses to study for judicial exams held in 2013, the source added.
