(MENAFN) Civilians in Kashmir declared that an army vehicle has drove over and crushed a man, as demonstrators fought with government forces after armed clashes with rebels.
The rebels in the main city of Indian-controlled Kashmir have been attempting to aid trapped insurgents to flee from a security cordon in Srinagar city.
Police confirmed that the clashes occurred after the battle sparked when soldiers raided a neighborhood in Srinagar on a tip that militants were hiding there.
Over one paramilitary officer has been wounded in the battle.
