Makkah Economic Forum '19 opens with signing of four pacts


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, March 23 (KUNA) -- Saudi Royal Advisor and Governor of Makkah Region Prince Khaled Al-Faisal opened on Saturday the second edition of Makkah Economic Forum 2019.

The event, which lasts until March 26, is themed "The Road to Urban Future - Invest in Makkah." It is organized by Makkah governorate in collaboration with the chambers of commerce of Makkah, Jeddah and Taif under the patronage of Prince Khaled.

On the sidelines of the opening ceremony, four agreements were singed to launch an Islamic world center at Al-Faisaliah project and a solar power project in Makkah, operate the global oasis, and increase investment in Makkah Region.

Discussions at the forum will focus on urban development, public services and infrastructure, transportation and logistical services, and innovation in Hajj and Umrah, as well as the investment opportunities in Makkah Region. (end) nsa.gb
