Palestinian electricity, water plans receive Japanese grant


(MENAFN) Palestine is receiving financial assistance from Japan for three initiatives launched in the West Bank on electricity and water rehabilitation.

Grant agreements were penned in Ramallah by Japan for two Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) at a value of USD262,804.

West Bank's Ateel Municipality was confirmed to be spending USD84,675 of the grant in efforts to enhance water supply for 350 homes through replacing 16,000 m of old spoiled water pipelines.

Meanwhile, the Ateel Municipality will be spending USD89,129 in fixing a lack of power crisis along with solving non-isolated electricity wires issues through placing 8,000 m of isolated cables with an aim to help 2,000 people.
