MENAFN- Asia Times) A Filipino-American girl made history by becoming the first contestant to get two Golden Buzzer wins on the America's Got Talent television show.
Angelica Hale, 11, previously competed in the show in 2017 and won her first Golden Buzzer, which catapulted her to the show's final round where she finished in second place, the Manila Standard reported.
This year, the popular talent competition returned with America's Got Talent: The Champions, which features 10 former winners and standout acts from different America's Got Talent editions from around the world.
The young singer made a comeback by doing her version of Rachel Platten's Fight Song, which earned her a standing ovation from the audience and judges. Because of her powerful performance, Hale earned her second Golden Buzzer, making her the first two-time Golden Buzzer recipient in the history of the show.
'I can't believe this is actually happening to me. I mean, I never expected this to happen. This is a dream come true,' Hale said.
Hale's parents never thought their daughter would be on the stage of America's Got Talent as the young girl needed a life-saving kidney transplant when she was only four years old.
Hale was on life support in 2013 and after discovering her mother was a match, the mother and daughter went into surgery for the transplant.
