Following the successful book launch of Mark McClafferty’s personal story from living large in Los Angeles to becoming a fugitive chased by the FBI the author announces his book is being developed into a feature film.
At about the same time when Jordan Belfort (Wolf of Wall Street) was scamming his investors of millions of dollars Mark McClafferty was embarking on his own Investment Ponzi Scheme while living in Los Angeles California. His investment schemes led him to embezzle $117 million from investors throughout America. Mark fled the United States in 2001; pursued as a fugitive by the FBI.
Following his extradition back to the United States in 2004 he was sentenced to serve 4 years and 9 months in Federal prison. It was there Mark wrote his novel ‘Exile Corporation’ realizing he was in a place where no one wants to go but everyone wants to know about and so Mark set about befriending and interviewing some of the highpower Cartel and Mexican Mafia member inmates in Federal prison using their stories as the basis for his novel. Published in 2010 his novel has now been developed into the feature film Exile Corporation being produced by his company NVS Media (Group) Ltd.
The film features several US and UK film and television series actors who have appeared in Scorpion Burn Notice Sons of Anarchy OZ and Footballers’ Wives. One actor Annet Artani even toured with and wrote a hit record with Britney Spears. Another actor Nellie Sciutto has been in several box office hits including: The Aviator The Departed and Shutter Island. “Big Joe” Egan has been featured in Guy Ritchie's’ Sherlock Holmes and has just completed filming the latest installment of Predators.
Anthony L. Fernandez who plays Bezerk can be seen in the hit comedy The Wedding Ringer. The cast of Exile Corporation is an eclectic mix reflecting the people that have been in Mark’s life to date.
About Mark:
Born and raised in England; Mark McClafferty moved to Los Angeles California in 1991 at the age of 25 years old. He began training to become an Investment Securities Broker and by 1995 he was one of the most sought after telemarketers throughout the United States. Upon the advent of the Internet Mark joined an organization that then manipulated the burgeoning electronic age eventually embezzling approximately $117 million by 1999. Following his run to Mexico and subsequent extradition back to the United States in 2004 serving a 4year 3 month prison sentence Exile Corporation was inspired by the people he met while in prison. Today Mark lives in Bournemouth Dorset England working as a business consultant.
