Gulf Air net loss hits USD527 thousands in Jun-Aug

(MENAFN) Gulf Air announced it registered an almost break-even situation with operating losses of only USD 110.71 thousands and a net loss of USD 527.21 thousands due to strong summer demands, Gulf Daily News reported.

The national carrier of Bahrain said that these results came after the airline enhanced its network in June by resuming its operations to Athens and increasing its flights between Bahrain and Cairo, as well as between Bahrain and Kuwait.

Gulf Air's summer schedule also provided additional flights during summer between Bahrain and the popular destinations of Istanbul, Larnaca, Amman, Beirut and Bangkok.

'We see signs that our strategy is enhancing bottom line performance and our national carrier's positive performance, in conjunction with high travel demand, has delivered strong August results that mark a significant milestone in the airline's history,'" Acting Chief Executive said.
