Oman resident to receive pravasi award in Kuwait on August 15


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat-based social worker PM Jabir, chosen by Kuwait-based Kerala Art Lovers Association (Kala) for the R Ramesh Memorial Pravasi Award will receive it at a function in Kuwait on August 15. 


Jabir has been helping the Indian community in the sultanate since 1982. He is also the convenor of Indian Social Club's (ISC) Kerala wing. ''During all these years, I have tried my best to take the grievances of hundreds of Indian expatriates to concerned authorities,'' Jabir said. J Saji, president, and TV Jayan, general secretary, Kala and other office-bearers made the announcement on the award at a function recently held in Kuwait.


Jabir, who is also ISC's community welfare secretary, was recently conferred with the Media One Channel award for his contributions to the Indian community in Oman.


The award was presented by MediaOne TV channel at a function in Sharjah, UAE, as part of its first anniversary celebrations.
