Iran's cement production up 8%


(MENAFN) Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, Mehdi Ghazanfari, said that during the past calendar year, ended March, the country's output of cement grew 8 percent from a year earlier, reported Tehran Times. Ghazanfari added that the amount exceeded 66.4 million tons, whereas clinker output jumped 12 percent from a year earlier to nearly 64.6 million tons. He also said that at the current time, Iran's cement output capacity stands at 74 million tons. Moreover, by 2015, the country's cement production capacity would grow to reach 110 million. It is worth noting that Iran's cement output in the last calendar month stood at 5.7 million tons.
