Cooperation With Germany Prioritizes Environmental Concerns - President Of Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 17. The
ecology and climate agenda is a priority in the relations with
Germany, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said at
the Central Asia – Germany summit in Astana on 17 September,
featuring attendances of German federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and
Central Asian heads of state, Trend reports via the official Turkmen media.
“Germany ranks high on the environmental and climate issue in
international relations. Turkmenistan highly appreciates here the
position of the German government, its commitment to cooperation
with the countries of Central Asia, and its active and proactive
role in promoting“green” projects and programs,” the head of state
stated.
In this context, the President also brought to mind the
significance of the“Green Central Asia” conference held in Berlin
in 2020, which served as a springboard for sharing ideas and
mapping out collaborative efforts to put environmental initiatives
into action.
To note, the second Central Asia-Germany Summit in the 5+1
format is taking place on 17 September in Astana with the
participation of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar
Berdimuhamedov. The summit continues the trend of development of
strategic partnerships that began with the first meeting in Berlin
in September 2023.
Turkmenistan reaffirms its role in expanding multilateral
cooperation while demonstrating its commitment to constructive
discussion on the international stage.
