In Kazakhstan, Volume Of Cargo Transportation Along“Middle Corridor” Is Increasing


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU. Azerbaijan. August 21. Over the first 7 months of 2024, about 4.2 million tons of cargo were transported through the seaports of Aktau and Kurik, which remained at the same level compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

This information was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Railway and Maritime transport of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kasim Tlepov.

According to Kasim Tlepov, the volume of cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TCIR) increased by 63 percent and reached 2.5 million tons. He noted that the range of goods transported along this route is expanding every year.

Tlepov added that this year it is planned to transport about 8 million tons of cargo through the ports of Aktau and Kurik, including 4.2 million tons of cargo along the TBNM route.

It should be noted that the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the "Middle Corridor", crosses Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey and connects China with European countries.
