Drukair To Add Five New Airbus Aircraft In Fleet

Dhaka: Drukair, also known as Royal Bhutan Airlines, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with European planemaker Airbus to acquire three A320neos and two A321XLRs, anticipated to be delivered in 2030.
Bhutan's flag carrier intends to operate these aircraft from Paro International Airport and the upcoming airport in Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC).
The move is aimed at enhancing the airline's global route Network to Europe, South East Asia and Australia.
Currently, Drukair's fleet includes four Airbus A320 family aircraft, comprising three A319s and one A320.
As per the vision of the monarch of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, GMC, located in the southern plains of the kingdom, is becoming a fresh economic powerhouse.
Drukair is in efforts to play a crucial role in facilitating the growth of GMC and Bhutan by addressing the increasing demands for transportation and logistics.
