Chilean Exports Flourish In Early 2024


(MENAFN- The Rio Times) In the first six months of 2024, Chile's export landscape saw noteworthy advancement, with goods and services reaching unprecedented levels.

Goods exports edged up by 1.4%, totaling $49.466 billion, while services leapt by 34.6%, culminating in $1.387 billion, accoding to Subre data.

These numbers represent a quiet but solid stride forward in the nation's economic narrative.

Mining continues to anchor Chile's export economy, commanding 56% of total exports.

Here, revenue climbed to $27.725 billion, up 6.9% mainly through increased shipments of copper concentrate, gold, and iron.



Despite a minor setback in lithium carbonate, the sector's overall strength illustrates its resilience and adaptability. Conversely, food exports slightly dipped by 0.7% to $6.251 billion.

Decreased salmon and trout shipments were almost balanced by gains in frozen fruit and poultry, highlighting the sector's adaptability.

On another front, cellulose and wine exports rose to $1.334 billion and $750 million, respectively, underscoring potential growth areas.

Meanwhile, the organic sector enjoyed a 30% surge, marking a notable trend towards more sustainable produce.

Service exports, though a smaller component, displayed vigorous growth, driven by a diverse portfolio of 220 services, including IT and aircraft maintenance.

The sector's 34.6% growth, reflecting its highest value for a similar semester to date, highlights its increasing significance and reach across 114 global markets.
