Jordanian exports reach JD4.198 billion in first half of 2023

(MENAFN) Jordanian exports to different trade allies as well as financial associations increased in the initial six months of the current year, reaching an overall amount of about JD4.198 billion, in comparison to JD4.104 billion in the same time in 2022, the Department of Statistics (DoS) stated on Monday.

Based on foreign trade statistics published by DoS, nations in the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA) headed the list of Jordan’s export receivers in the January-June time of this year, reaching a 17.4 percent, a Jordanian news agency stated.

The worth of domestic exports to GAFTA nations rose in the first six months of 2023 to JD1.460 billion, in comparison to JD1.244 billion in the same time of the last year, motivated by a growth in Jordanian export size to the Saudi market, which accounted for about JD452 million.

Domestic exports below the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) also soared 1.8 percent amid the first half of 2023, totalling approximately JD1.011 billion, measured up to JD993 million in the first half of last year. The DoS credited this increase to escalated Jordanian ships to the Canadian market, which reached JD45 million.
