Trans male wins concurs victory in ‘Miss Netherlands’ competition


(MENAFN) Transgender model as well as actor Rikkie Valerie Kolle became the first biological male victor of the Miss Netherlands pageant on Saturday, hosted at the AFAS Theater in the city of Leusden. Kolle beaten nine biological females’ competitors to win the crown for this year, subsequent 2022`s victor Ona Moody.

The 22-year-old is going to embody the Netherlands at the 72nd Miss Universe competition in El Salvador later in 2023, becoming merely the second transgender competitor to reach the global pageant.

The first biological male Miss Universe competitor was Angela Ponce of Spain, who contested five years ago, however, was unsuccessful to reach t the last round.

In a funded Miss Universe Instagram post for Pride month, Kolle was chosen for “victory” as a one-word self-explanatory, clarifying “as a little boy, I conquered all the things that came through my path. And look at me now, standing here as a strong, empowering, and confident trans woman.”
