Trade Turnover Volume Between Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan Increases


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 11. The Minister of Investment, industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan Guseyn Guliyev, Trend reports.

During the meeting, the parties welcomed the positive dynamics of the development of trade, economic and investment relations based on warm, trusting relations between the heads of the two states.

Thus, by the end of 2023, trade turnover increased by 26.5%. There are 230 enterprises with the participation of Azerbaijani capital in the fields of trade, mechanical engineering and metalworking, finance and insurance, real estate transactions, energy, services, jewelry production, food and light industry operating in Uzbekistan. A solid portfolio of large mutually beneficial investment projects is being implemented on a reciprocal basis.

Measures to accelerate the implementation of agreements reached during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Uzbekistan in August of this year in such sectors as urban infrastructure development, industrial production, chemical industry and IT were discussed.

A unanimous opinion was expressed on the importance of building partnerships between the business circles of the two countries and developing interregional cooperation. In this context, readiness to take the necessary measures to support business circles and further strengthen cooperation in priority sectors was confirmed.
