(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Crown Prince Award, Ahmad Hanandeh, on Thursday announced the launch of the third edition of the Crown Prince Award for the Best Government Services Application in collaboration with the Crown Prince Foundation.The third edition is part of the strategic partnership and cooperation between Jordan and the United Arab Emirates in the modernisation and development of government work, according to a ministry statement cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The award aims to encourage Jordanian university students to innovate creative solutions in the field of smartphone and mobile device applications, specifically for the enhancement of user-friendly and simplified government services, the statement added.
Hanandeh called upon Jordanian university students and beneficiaries of the "One Million Jordanian Coders Initiative" to start preparing their applications for participation in the award.
The registration and submission of applications will commence on June 15 and will be open for a period of three months through the official award website: Crown Prince Award for the Best Government Services Application, with a total value of JD100,000, is provided by the UAE government. The prize money will be distributed as follows: JD50,000 for the first-place winner, JD30,000 for the second-place winner and JD20,000 for the third-place winner. The results of the award will be announced in November of this year.
The third edition of the award encompasses nine primary sectors, including healthcare, education, transportation, tourism, agriculture and food security, digital economy, financial sector, service sector and government communication.
