Fifth International Conference Of JUST's Faculty Of Pharmacy Kicks Off

Ramtha, June 7 (Petra) -- The Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) opened the fifth International Faculty of Pharmacy Conference on Wednesday, focusing on "Multidisciplinary Pharmaceutical Research".
JUST's President, Dr. Khaled Al-Salem, emphasized that the conference aims to furnish an interactive platform for experts and researchers to disseminate their findings, broaden their professional networks, and acquaint pharmacists with advancements in their field.
He further mentioned the conference's role in fostering connections between pharmacy graduates and Doctor of Pharmacy degree holders with local and international pharmaceutical firms.
Aligning with the University's strategic vision, Al-Salem pointed out that the conference is part of a comprehensive effort to align academic programs with domestic and international labor market needs.
The conference will deliberate on the latest findings in pharmaceutical sciences, sharing innovative practices, technologies, and methods for developing the pharmacy profession, he stated.
Dr. Nizar Muhaidat, Director General of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, reaffirmed the organization's commitment to applying good pharmaceutical practices, including good manufacturing, pharmacovigilance, and clinical practices.
He underscored the importance of training pharmaceutical personnel, fostering partnerships with esteemed academics in pharmacy colleges, and assimilating their diverse experiences within the institution's technical committees.
Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Conference Chairperson, Dr. Sayer Al-Azzam, highlighted that the two-day conference provides a valuable opportunity to discuss modern technologies and pioneering research in the face of the challenges and opportunities presented in the field of drug treatments.
Dr. Muhammad Ababneh, Head of the Pharmacists Syndicate, lauded the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Sciences for consistently hosting seminars, conferences, lectures, and scientific research gatherings, as well as engaging with Jordanian intellectuals and specialists in various fields of knowledge.
The conference will address a multitude of topics, including medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, pharmaceutical biotechnology, and the applications of artificial intelligence in pharmaceutical sciences, among others.
With participation from Arab and international universities, the conference is expected to attract a large cohort of researchers, specialists, and experts from countries like the United Arab Emirates, Oman, the United Kingdom, Spain, the United States, and Canada.
Parallel to the conference, there was an exhibition of scientific posters, a drug exhibition showcasing local and international pharmaceutical companies, a career day featuring more than 20 pharmaceutical companies, and several training workshops for pharmacy students to hone their skills in diverse fields.
