Egypt, Israel discuss recent borders’ firefights
(MENAFN) Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant talked to his Egyptian equal, Mohamed Ahmed Zaki, via phone call on Saturday, talking about the firefight at the border previously that same day, which caused the death of three Israeli militias as well as one Egyptian security officer.
The defense leaders approved to take actions to “prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future,” based on the declaration from the Egyptian Armed Forces.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that “an investigation is being conducted in full cooperation with the Egyptian army.”
As the two nations gave various versions of the battle. The IDF at first stated that at nearly 2:30 AM regional time on Saturday its militias caught a cross-border trafficking procedure.
The Israeli military later stated that two of its soldiers, confirming that one of them was a female sergeant, were killed with guns at a border base.
