Iran Urges Int'l Community Support For Syria Reconstruction


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TEHRAN, May 15 (KUNA) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed on Monday the importance of the international community's support for rebuilding Syria to prepare for Syrian refugees' return to their home.
This came in during a meeting held between Abdollahian and UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen in Tehran, Iran's official news agency reported.
Abdollahian commended Pedersen's efforts to help restore security and stability in that country, the agency said.
Pedersen, meanwhile, discussed Sunday with Iranian Foreign Minister's Senior Advisor for Special Political Affairs Ali Asghar Khaji the latest developments in Syria, in addition to means of boosting cooperation between Iran and the UN to address the problems and humanitarian issues facing Damascus, according to the agency.
