(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Bazaar for Children 3, launched by Qatar Charity (QC) in co-operation with Al Bayan Primary School for Girls, will continue its activities until May 15, with the aim of developing students' abilities in the field of community entrepreneurship and enhancing their participation in charitable work.
The charity bazaar, which started on April 30, provides an opportunity to instill the love of charitable work in the hearts of children, through their participation in selling their products, a QC statement said yesterday.
The project aims to encourage children to establish small projects, promote values, provide them with some skills, and train them on planning, management, and organisation skills, in addition to marketing and selling.
The project targets school students from the primary stage from 9-12 years old. It is expected to teach 130 students the skills of establishing and managing small projects, in addition to enabling 130 students to establish the foundations of owning a project to support local or international charitable projects.
Naglaa Ayed al-Hajri, school activities specialist at Al Bayan School, praised the idea of the children's bazaar put forward by Qatar Charity and said:“I found a great response from the students, teachers and parents participating in this programme.” Amna Youssef al-Hammadi, a student, said: "The aim of participating in the Children's Bazaar is to furnish a shop for gifts in order to bring joy and happiness to the hearts of the needy." Afnan Abdel-Rahman, another student, said: "The aim of learning handicrafts is to use them as a field for creativity and work in the future, in parallel with helping the poor and needy." Trainer Susan Fawzi, expressed her happiness and admiration for the work done by the students through presenting creative ideas, as they learned the art of collage and showed their many talents.
