Saudi Arabia's Tourism Sector Poised for Continued Growth

(MENAFN) According to leading figures in the global hotel industry, the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia is set to continue its impressive growth trajectory in the years to come. Amir Lababedi, Hilton's managing director of development for the Middle East and North Africa, expressed enthusiasm about the future of Saudi Arabia as a global tourism destination, saying the hotel chain plans to grow its portfolio to over 75 hotels in the Kingdom in the coming years. Executives from Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Accor also expressed plans to speed up expansion in the Kingdom due to the positive outlook for the sector, which is a key part of the Vision 2030 initiative.

Marriott International's Walia highlighted the Kingdom's investment in infrastructure to meet the demand for hotel accommodation, as well as wider initiatives that will attract local, regional, and international travelers. He noted that access is one of the key areas that the country has made significant changes to, with plans to develop and expand airports in the Kingdom to drive access into key cities and destinations. The recently launched Riyadh Air, which adds another national carrier, is also expected to play a pivotal role in expanding the country's network and connectivity to destinations across the globe.

Walia also emphasized that the Kingdom's recent policies around visas and entry into the country will play a key role in driving more traffic into the country. These factors are expected to support and further grow the hospitality sector in the country, which has already experienced significant growth in recent years. With the government's continued push to diversify the economy away from oil and position Saudi Arabia as a leading destination for tourism and investment, the hospitality industry is poised for continued growth, making it an attractive market for hotel chains and investors alike.
