Bangladesh wishes to increase Indian yarn and fabric supplies Coimbatore, Apr 14 (KNN) Bangladesh is considering to get its yarn and fabric supplies from India to meet its annual exports target of USD 100 billion in the coming years.
Currently the South Asian neighbour exports garments worth USD 3.9 billion a month, reported The Hindu.
Bangladesh wants to grow its sourcing from Tamil Nadu and it is currently importing yarn and fabric from China, India, and Vietnam.
Six delegates from BGMEA and Bangladesh Garments Executive Association visited the State recently and had an interactive meeting with Indian Texpreneurs Federation.
According to Prabhu Dhamodharan, convenor of the Federation, Bangladesh wants to increase its apparel exports and source more woven fabric, and processed, ready-to-cut fabric of different fibres from India, reported The Hindu.
The Bangladesh delegation also visited clusters in Surat and Delhi.
