2Nd Qatari Ramadan Book Fair

(MENAFN- Asdaf News) The second Ramadan book Expo, which runs from March 30 through April 5 at Darb Al Saai in Umm Salal, will have a renowned and varied participation from Qatari publishing houses and authorities.

48 publishing houses from 14 Arab and other nations, as well as 31 Qatari organizations and publishing firms, participated in the book fair. Together with a large selection of children's books, literary, cultural, and intellectual literature, the exhibition featured a concentration on religious books in keeping with the nature and timing of the event.

Sheikha Sheikha Ahmed Al-Thani, the head of the marketing and sales department at Qatar University Press (QU Press), expressed her satisfaction at taking part in the second Ramadan Book Fair at Darb Al Saai in Umm Salal in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA). She praised the exhibition's exquisite design, which highlighted Qatar's history.

In addition to selling books, she continued, the exhibition offers the Qatari family a variety of Ramadan activities and events. The book fair, which benefits all facets of society and the family, attracts a sizable number of publishing houses from both inside and outside the State of Qatar.

Murielle El Hajj Nahas, the director of Lusail University Press (LU Press), similarly stated to QNA that the publishing house is still young and was established in March 2023 to publish specialized, teaching and reference books, as well as scientific journals that serve as a bridge between authors and readers through various fields of knowledge to advance and enrich global interaction.

The publishing business, she noted, would support scientific research that is written in Arabic and translated into English so that it might be acknowledged on a global scale.

For her part, Dr. Aisha Al Kuwari, CEO of Rosa Publishing House, informed QNA that Rosa Publishing House is participating in the Ramadan Book Fair for the second time with almost 200 book versions.

The Rosa publishing house provides a range of books, including adult and young adult literature as well as diverse intellectual works, to suit the needs of family members and advance general culture.

She pointed out that as the exhibition's dominating trend is a family-friendly environment, the focus has been on religious literature and books pertaining to children in general.
