Turkey’s daily electricity usage declines by 0.34 percent on Feb. 25

(MENAFN) According to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS), Turkey’s daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.34 percent on Saturday compared to the previous day, amounting to 830,361 megawatts per hours. The hourly peak for power consumption was 39,339 megawatts per hours at 12 p.m. regional time (0900 GMT), while the lowest level of consumption was recorded at 29,331 megawatts per hours at 5 a.m. regional time (0200 GMT).
The data from TEIAS further revealed that electricity production on Saturday was 818,790 megawatts per hours, showing a decrease of 0.29 percent compared to Friday. The country's electricity generation mix included 23 percent from imported coal plants, 19 percent from natural gas plants, and 18.2 percent from wind plants.
In terms of electricity trade, Turkey’s exports amounted to 7,405 megawatts per hours on Saturday, while imports totaled 18,976 megawatts per hours. It is worth noting that the country's energy market is interconnected with its neighbors, allowing for the import and export of electricity depending on supply and demand.
Overall, the figures suggest a slight decrease in electricity consumption and production in Turkey on Saturday, with a diverse mix of energy sources being used to meet the country's electricity needs.
