Governor announces 90 ha of greenhouses in Mahmoud-Abad utilized for Flowers, ornamental plants output


(MENAFN) There are 90 hectares of greenhouses for raising flowers in addition to apartment and ornamental plants in Mahmoud-Abad coastal district, in the northern Mazandaran area, as stated by the governor of Mahmoud-Abad.

Referring to the action of knowledge-located firms in the sector of cultivating flowers and ornamental plants in greenhouses in the district, Ruhollah Alizadeh asserted that with the building of flowers and ornamental plants pilot villages of Mazandaran in Mahmoud-Abad, around 6,000 people from this district are operating in this province.

Iran set at the 17th place in the world in the output of flowers as well as ornamental plants, but it is placed 107th in terms of shipment.

Bearing in mind the peak prospect and capacity of import of flowers and ornamental plants by the Persian Gulf littoral states as well as Central Asian nations, with aim of surging the stake of Iran in the world markets, it is important to adopt impactful and aimed policies in order to resolve the issue in the method of output and shipment of flowers and ornamental plants.
