Iran’s nominal power generation volume reaches over 90,000 MW

(MENAFN) With the installation of an additional thermal power plant in southwestern Iran, the nominal volume of the nation’s power plants has surpassed 90,000 megawatts (MW), a representative with the nation’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company (TPPH) declared.

As said by Mohammad Ramezani, the deputy chief of the firm’s ventures improvement department, the stated power plant which has been established with USD250 million of funds in Khuzestan district, is consisted of a 307-MW gas unit as well as a 144-MW steam unit, as reported by IRNA.

The majority of Iran’s power generation volume is provided by thermal power plants. Presently, combined cycle power plants account for the largest stake of the nation’s overall power generation volume then comes gas power plants.

The overall volume of the nation’s thermal power plants reaches more than 72,000 MW, as said by Ramezani.

Surging the nation’s power generation volume and stopping blackouts throughout high intake time spans have been between the Iranian Energy Ministry’s highest priorities since the present government administration took charge two years ago.
