Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the domestic civil aviation industry is witnessing a strong V-shaped recovery.

He said that there is a strong growth in the number of domestic passengers and this will continue in the coming years. It is known that the aviation industry is facing tough conditions for two consecutive years due to the corona epidemic. It is noteworthy that the industry, which has recovered since the end of last year, is witnessing strong growth this year. The number of daily passengers is more than 4 lakhs.

Scindia revealed that the number of passengers is very encouraging and has reached 111 million by November this year. He explained that more people are showing interest in traveling by air, and that is why these statistics are being recorded. As part of an interview given to a news agency, he spoke extensively on the issues related to the aviation industry. According to the Civil Aviation Department statistics, 4,15,426 people traveled on 2,883 domestic services last Tuesday.“While the average daily ridership in 2019 before Corona was 4.15 lakh, it is very pleasing to see that it has crossed this figure in the last two weeks. 4.35 lakh people traveled on December 24,” said the minister.

Covid cases are worrying..
Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stated that the increase in corona cases in China, South Korea, Japan and Europe is a matter of concern.“We are very cautious. That is why we are conducting screening (tests) for 2 percent of the travelers coming to India in accordance with the instructions of the health department. Fortunately, there are not many cases at present. In this regard, some wait and see attitude is required,” he said.

Didn't expect that much traffic..
Recently, it is known that passengers are facing many problems due to heavy traffic at Delhi airport. Scindia said they did not expect such a rush during the festivals.

“Actually it is the responsibility of the airports. They are responsible for making hassle-free arrangements for passengers as per the demand. The minister opined that the solution is to limit the traffic and expand the capacity according to the capacity of the airports during peak hours. The civil aviation department has received huge complaints about congestion in many other airports, mainly Delhi airport.

It is noteworthy that the Civil Aviation Department has taken many corrective measures. The minister said that now the traffic at Delhi airport has been controlled during peak hours and more gates have been opened. He opined that similar measures are needed at Mumbai and Bangalore airports. He said that the international passenger traffic is 20-25 percent less compared to 2019.
